This is Ginger Rogers, one of my idols and a pretty awesome lady. Top Hat and The Gay Divorcee are my two favorite films of hers, but she also makes a brief appearance in the best movie musical of the 30s, Gold Diggers of 1933. I don’t say that lightly either; I’m not a huge fan of musicals, movie or otherwise, but ’33 and it’s lesser-known successor ’35 are masterful examples of choreography (by Busby Berkley) and human synchronization.
